Long Point Grille & Bar

"We were in the Summersville Lake area and wanted to stop for lunch. We had heard good things about the Long Point Grille from friends who have a cabin nearby. After first stopping at the Long Point Overlook (a must see), we decided to have lunch at LPG which is basically across the road. We had our dog with us and they only allow service dogs in the restaurant. This is understandable. The place is pretty small, especially the outdoor seating so they really don't have room to accommodate pets (Golden Retriever). We ordered take out which we did not regret. I had hotdogs and fries. My wife had a chicken bacon ranch wrap and fries. Everything was good. We stopped at the picnic area with a view of the lake just on the other side of the dam. We enjoyed our food and the three of us were more comfortable than we would have been at the restaurant. We would certainly go back again if we are in the area."

"Always a safe bet for consistently good food. It is a lunch staple for my group. 1/2 price boneless wings Mondays are my total favorite. Mango Habanero are where it's at. Everyone that works there is always friendly and upbeat. If you are in the area and want a pretty well guaranteed good meal, this is it!"

"Stumbled upon this on our motorcycle ride down past the Summersville Dam. Stopped in and found a great atmosphere, friendly staff. My husband had their hillbilly steak and loved it. I had their pulled pork on a baked potato, delicious. Highly recommend!"

"We thought this place was wonderful. This being our first time here we were not sure what to expect. We were able to get a table on their back porch which was really cute. Our waitress was a doll and the food was great! We will definitely return when visiting this area again."

"Wonderful little restaurant across from the Summersville lake overlook. We stopped after riding The Talon on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Service was quick and our waitress friendly. We started with the Buffalo dip cam out bubbling hot, and it was creamy, cheesy goodness. Could have used a bit more chicken, but other than that it was spot on. For our mains, we opted for the daily special of potato soup with grilled cheese and the Spicy Hawaiian pizza. The potato soup was hearty and was well seasoned. The grilled cheese was tasty and oozed American cheese. My pizza was delicious. Spicy isn't a word I would choose to describe it though. It was kind of sweet, but I love it. I added some red pepper flakes to spice it up a bit. The hot honey garlic drizzle was very garlicky. I will add this note: they charge extra for everything. It was 11.47 for a bowl of soup with cheese, and sour cream (each an additional charge) and the grilled cheese. That's a bit pricey in our opinion, but not enough to deter us from going back."

"I've always enjoyed both the food and the location here, so it's disappointing that I feel the need to share a negative experience. I brought my college friends to this restaurant while they were visiting the area over the weekend, and although we expected it to be busy, the issues we encountered went beyond simple delays. Our server was noticeably short with us, rarely checked in, and didn't return to our table for nearly an hour. It also seemed as though she wasn't monitoring whether our food was ready in the kitchen. Meanwhile, another server seated a party of the same size 15 minutes after us, yet their table received their food and attentive service much sooner. This contrast was especially apparent since she continued tending to the tables surrounding ours while leaving us largely unattended. I understand that the restaurant was crowded and that staffing challenges are common these days. Still, it was clear that some staff were carrying more of the workload than others, and as a customer, it was uncomfortable to watch. I even felt the need to apologize to my friends for recommending the restaurant in the first place. To make matters worse, one of my friends was denied service because his ID was vertical, despite it being valid. If this is indeed the restaurant's policy, a simple explanation would have been completely reasonable. However, the server offered no clear reasoning, which left the impression that we weren't worth her effort from the very beginning. From that point on, it felt as though she had written us off, assuming we wouldn't tip well. The lack of attention continued throughout our meal--no updates on our order, no refills until an hour later, and minimal interaction compared to how she engaged with other tables. The food itself was excellent, as always, and I have no complaints about the kitchen staff. In fact, I wish I could have given my tip directly to them instead."
